Good News Worth Spreading

James Coughlin, an Arizona Army National Guard soldier who recently attended H.E.A.R. training at Harvard, shared a story about one of his schools that is certainly worth spreading. A sophomore with special needs was the victim of bullying. According to her mom, “that permanent smile she had, that gleam in her eye, that was all gone.” This was not okay with members of the football team who decided to take action. They clearly demonstrated the character traits aligned with H.E.A.R. – respect, loyalty, duty, selfless service, honor, integrity and personal courage. Please read Rick Reilly’s article on ESPN.com about how these young men intervened and made a life-changing impact on one girl and most likely the entire school.
