Criminalizing bullying is not the answer

In this opinion article, Sarah Plavcan, a first-year law student at Harvard Law School, speaks out against House Bill 386, a bill which would apply criminal penalties to bullying. Plavcan states that “The broad language of this bill, criminalizing anything that “places another in reasonable fear of substantial harm to his or her emotional or physical well-being” or “interfer[es] with a safe environment”, would criminalize conduct far beyond bullying.”
