    The hashtag known as #IAmAMisfit is gaining traction on social after pop duo High Dive Heart teamed up with trans teen Corey Maison to help raise awareness of the severe impact of bullying. Maison, who remains silent, holds up note cards to tell her story about not fitting in with the other kids.

  • White Plains Father, Son Write Book About Bullying

    A 9-year-old boy and his father write a book titled The Adventures of Hyperkid: Hyperkid v Bullborg. While this book covers a wide range of serious issues beyond hyperactivity (bullying, intolerance, loneliness, and pre-judgment of people), HyperKid v BullBorg is also a fun super hero story with humorous characters involved in a suspenseful adventure story.

  • Criminalizing bullying is not the answer

    In this opinion article, Sarah Plavcan, a first-year law student at Harvard Law School, speaks out against House Bill 386, a bill which would apply criminal penalties to bullying. Plavcan states that “The broad language of this bill, criminalizing anything that “places another in reasonable fear of substantial harm to his or her emotional or physical well-being” or “interfer[es] with a safe environment”, would criminalize conduct far beyond bullying.”

  • Can more surveillance cameras help curb bullying?

    In Sonora, California, district officials just approved a nearly $150,000 purchase of a state-of-the-art surveillance system for Sonora Union High School. The surveillance system is intended to give school administrators the capability of knowing what is happening on their school campus. While the campus already has a handful of cameras, the new system will increase the school cameras by 59 and the system can record continuously and store the footage for up to two weeks.

  • WWE wrestlers hold anti-bullying rally at Tucson school

    WWE Superstars Becky Lynch, Titus O’Neil and Sin Cara spoke before a group of kids at the rally to let them know quite simply, it’s not cool to be a bully. WWE and the Boys & Girls Club of America launched a partnership for an anti-bullying campaign called Be a STAR. The campaign has already completed 100 rallies and has reached 300,000 children around the world, according to a WWE news release.
